Meet the enthusiastic, kind, fun Judy!

Judy, in her own words

"The first singing experience I remember is from elementary school singing in the school choir. From there through college and after I have been involved in some kind of singing group.  I discovered Sweet Adelines while in my 30s and it is the best hobby I’ve found. During my time with this wonderful organization I have been on many chorus boards, been choreographer, section leader, assistant director, and a couple of years ago made the leap to front line director. I have enjoyed singing and performing with different chorus’ over the years, and especially love competing in chorus and quartet competitions.

"This past spring brought a new challenge when a wonderful group of dedicated friends met together to form a brand new Sweet Adeline chorus. We are in the process of developing our singers so we can apply for official membership in the International organization. This is a journey of pure joy and love. As we go through each week, as more potential members come through the door, and as we work on honing new music and artistry we are enjoying every step along the way.

"In my other life I am married with three daughters; two have been members of Sweet Adelines and made their mom very proud to be on the risers with them. My daughter Miranda joined the organization when she was 16 and continues to sing with us today. I also have an up-and-coming potential new Sweet Adeline by the name of Amelia, my granddaughter, who can’t wait to take the stage with us when she’s big enough to fit the costumes. In my “spare” time I work as a clinical research coordinator.

"It is a privilege and a delight to be a director and the learning never stops. Every time I take on a new role I learn more and more about this wonderful art form. It’s hard to believe sometimes it has been 20 years since I first joined. I am looking forward to the next 20…can’t wait to see what they bring.
